Can I create another company?

Companies are set up by A9 Stockroom during early access. Here is how to ask for one, what you add yourself, and whether one person can be in two companies.

Can I create another company?#

Not by yourself, not yet. During early access, A9 Stockroom sets up every company by hand. There is no button for it in the app.

To ask for a new one, fill in the request form on our site: a9stockroom.com, Request access. Say it is a second company. The new company needs its own owner, and the owner needs an email address that has no A9 Stockroom account yet, so give a different address from the one you use today. We email the owner an invite, and they set up their own sign-in.

Do you need another company?#

Most of the time, no. A company is the whole business: one team, one plan, one set of data and one owner. If you run several buildings, shops, yards or trucks, those are locations inside one company. You add them yourself, whenever you like:

1. Open Settings, then Locations.
2. Tap Add location, and give it a name.

Each location has its own stock and its own minimums, and you can switch between them or look at all of them together. See Locations. The number of locations is part of your plan: see Your plan.

Ask for another company when you have a truly separate business that needs its own team, its own owner and its own data. Companies are walled off from each other. Nobody in one can see anything in another.

Can one person be in two companies?#

In practice, no. An email address belongs to one company at a time, and the app has no way to switch between companies.

• If someone who is already on a team accepts an invite to another company, they are told "This email already has an account. Sign in instead."
• To work for a second company, a person uses a different email address, with a separate sign-in.
• A person who has left their company, or been removed from it, can be invited to any company again, with the same address.

What does Leave company do?#

Leave company is on My account. When you use it, you lose access to that company at once and are signed out. What you did there stays in its history. The owner cannot leave: the owner first transfers ownership to a manager. To work in a different company afterwards, you need an invite to it.
